Michigan Wild Game Processor Registration

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources requires all commercial meat processing operations in Michigan to obtain a free permit from the Department. This permit will be issued in order for the Department to properly administer and oversee commercial processors who accept wild animals (for example, deer, elk, and bear) for processing and storage. The Department also requires an owner of any commercial processing operation to maintain records of all wild animals accepted for processing or storage for 90 days.

To register a commercial meat processing operation, please complete this online registration form. If you leave the form before completing the entire registration form, your answers will not be saved. You will still be able to go back to the form and start over, but your previous responses will be lost.  To begin the registration process, select the "Next page" button at the bottom of this page.

For questions regarding this registration, please contact the Wildlife Division Permit Specialist at 517-284-6210.
